Crockpot Chicken Tacos (Juicy, Flavorful & Effortless)

If you’re looking for an easy, hands-off dinner that practically cooks itself, these Crockpot Chicken Tacos are exactly what you need. With just a few simple ingredients and a slow cooker, you can create tender, juicy taco chicken that’s packed with flavor and perfect for busy days.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 –4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup salsa picante or your favorite variety
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning store-bought or homemade

Instructions
 

Add chicken to the crockpot

  • Place the chicken breasts directly into the bottom of the crockpot. You can use them frozen or fresh, both work perfectly for this recipe.

Season

  • Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken breasts.

Add salsa

  • Pour the salsa over the chicken, making sure it’s evenly coated.

Cook

  • Cover and cook:
  • On LOW for 6 hours, or
  • On HIGH for 3 hours
  • The chicken is done when it’s tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Shred & serve

  • Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks. Stir it into the sauce so it stays juicy and flavorful.
  • Serve warm with your favorite taco toppings.
