This Chicken Bacon Swiss Sandwich is a true classic that never goes out of style. Juicy grilled chicken, crispy bacon, melted Swiss cheese, and a sweet–savory honey Dijon sauce all come together in one incredibly satisfying sandwich.
Honey Dijon Sauce
- 120 g mayonnaise
- 30 g Dijon mustard
- 20 g honey
Sandwich
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 600–700 g total)
- 10 g Montreal steak seasoning or to taste
- 8 slices Swiss cheese about 160 g
- 4 hamburger buns
- 8 bacon strips about 200 g
Optional Toppings
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
Make the sauce
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
Prepare and cook the chicken
Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness of about 1.25 cm (½ inch). This ensures even cooking.
Sprinkle both sides generously with Montreal steak seasoning.
Grill the chicken over medium heat, covered, or broil it 10 cm (4 inches) from the heat source. Cook for 4–6 minutes per side, until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 74°C.
During the final minute of cooking, place Swiss cheese slices on top of the chicken and allow them to melt.
Toast the buns
Place the buns cut-side down on the grill or in a skillet over medium heat. Toast for 30–60 seconds, until golden.
Tip: Toasting the buns adds a light crunch and prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy.
