Cheesy Chicken & Broccoli Orzo (Creamy, Cozy & Family-Friendly)

Ingredients
  

  • 50 g uncooked orzo pasta
  • 2 × 280 g packages frozen broccoli with cheese sauce total 560 g
  • 30 g butter
  • 680 g boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1.25 cm (½-inch) cubes
  • 1 medium onion about 150 g, chopped
  • 4 g salt ¾ teaspoon
  • 2 g black pepper ½ teaspoon

Instructions
 

Cook the orzo and broccoli

  • Cook the orzo according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • At the same time, heat the frozen broccoli with cheese sauce according to package directions.

Cook the chicken

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken cubes, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6–8 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the onion is soft and translucent.

Combine everything

  • Add the cooked orzo and the broccoli with cheese sauce to the skillet.
  • Stir well to combine and cook for 2–3 minutes, until everything is heated through and evenly coated in the sauce.

Serve

  • Remove from heat and serve immediately while warm and creamy.
